House Nomay
- March of Nomay
- Sworn to the Duke of Vass
- Crest: The Crest of House Nomay is a dark gray castle on a white circle, surrounded by a field of green.
- Motto: “Solid as Stone.”
House Nomay commands the March of Nomay, protecting the realm against Claen Gael from the North. They rule from Castle Graystone in the City of Graystone, so-named because of the Gray granite that predominates in the region, and has become the basis of much of the local construction. The local Nomayan stonemasons have become masters at granite cutting.
Being adjacent to the Holy City to the West, the Nomayans are an intensely religious people. This strong religious belief makes them somewhat xenophobic, and ruder than they ought to be to the representatives of foreign nations who do not share their religious convictions
Culture of House House Nomay
The Culture of House Nomay centers on long-term investment. Trees are planted for grandchildren to enjoy. The blocks of a stone house are painstakingly quarried and carved for years before a child comes of age to use the home with their new family. Things change slowly, but always with intention and purpose, often on a plan that will only unfold long after the individual enacting it will be dead. Patience, Investment, and Planning are central to House philosophy, and impulsiveness is frowned upon.
Martial Traditions
House Nomay is unique in their continued use of stone arrowheads, spear-tips, and even daggers in their weapons. House alchemists use a process to create a chemical which- when soaked into stone- makes it less brittle but no less hard.
Dark Secrets of House Nomay
House Nomay once murdered an Inquisitor from the Holy Church of Ceros who discovered that one of their noble sons was consorting with a woman of Claen Gael, and even converted to her pagan beliefs.
