Harbinger Ravens
Harbinger Ravens (aka harbingers, harbinger birds) are an exceptionally large species of corvid. They are notable for their spectacular luminescent blue eyes and extreme intelligence. Rookeries of harbingers are found in almost every keep and village as they are the primary message carriers on Aereth.
Communications
In addition to the common caws and croaks of the common raven, harbingers also mimic human speech and can learn messages extremely fast (usually within hearing it repeated to them twice). They can also repeat the message back with uncanny precision in the sender's voice.
Uses
Harbinger ravens are used for carrying messages over long distances. With their ability to recognize faces, they can be directed to deliver a written or spoken message to a specific person.
