Black and spikey with many faded scars remaining from his youth as a thrall battle dragon for the mercenaries of Falconia.

Surly, moody, sulky, disobedient, hard to control and with an unfortunate penchant for diving into bodies of water and losing his rider.

Surprisingly good at swimming under water, attesting to his possible grand-parentage via an unwarranted coupling between his Grandmother, Akulatraxa and a male Sea dragon. 

Hatched in Falconia by mercenary dragonriders and brought up as a thrall-mount, he one day was flown near to the Great Orm in Upper Sask and heard the song of his Grandmother, sleeping below. Gruudux rid himself of his rider (no easy task, for the Falconian mercenaries have many a wily, intrusive and painful way to control and stay attached to their unwilling mounts) by crashing into the Orm itself.

He was nursed back to health by the Princess Fredegund and her young cousin Rigunth and all the while lay in conference with his Grand-Dam. For she, Akulatraxa, had communed with a strongly singing Drakeri of low estate, to whom the ancient sleeping dragon bade her young progeny go. And go he did, when healed.

No Ddraig seemed right for Wynn and no Drakeri seemed right for Gruudux: but the two of them, their songs were strong, they could not but hear each other.
