Rigunth is one of two surviving children of Aitard, late brother of the Tyrant Offo. Aitard's family members (those of age) were declared 'disgraced' after his death in battle, which was attributed to his disobeying Offo's orders. Rigunth, was allowed to keep her dubious honours as a Princess of the 'Royal' House of Akulatraxa only due to her young age at the time.
When Offo's forces seized and garrisoned Greyfall Keep on the 3rd Day, 4th Moon, in the Year 1250, Offo, who always feared any part of his army being detached without some member of his family as its nominal head, named his despised niece Rigunth as Châtelaine of the impregnable fortress until a more favoured son or daughter could be despatched.
